New Alger Gold Project

Cadillac Ventures owns 100% of the New Alger gold property. In October 2009, Renforth announced that it entered into a joint venture agreement with Cadillac whereby Renforth shall have the right to acquire a 51% interest in this gold property in Quebec. Renforth will be the operator and supervisor of exploration for the Joint Venture.

The New Alger project encompasses the historically productive Thomson-Cadillac mine.  It is located in Mining Concession No C.M. 0240PTA. The Property covers an area of 317.4 hectares and is located within the Cadillac Mining Camp, only several hundred meters from the currently operating LaRonde Mine.

Thompson Cadillac Mining Co. Ltd. mined the property from 1936-1939, producing 512 kg of gold and 26 kg of silver from 158,775 tons of ore at an average grade of 3.22 g/t Au. Various companies carried out limited amounts of underground and surface exploration work from 1940 – 1990. Although there was a shaft sunk to 1124 feet at the mine mining operations only reached a depth of 600 ft., with veining encountered as deep as the 1000 ft. level. The property is located within the Cadillac Mining Camp, only several hundred meters from the currently operating LaRonde Mine. The production shaft at LaRonde is is presently at 2,250 m.

At New Alger during the summer 2008 season the Company completed 3900m of drilling, from which 575 samples were selected and sent for processing. The Company is still awaiting the results, these will be released once available.

Renforth is the operator and supervisor of exploration for the Joint Venture and completed a diamond drill program in January 2011 that included approximately 2500 metres of drilling. For complete assay results please click here:

The drill program was designed as a follow-up to geophysical anomalies located in 2007 Test mineralization at greater depths.

Results from the winter 2011 program indicated large intersections of arsenopyrite mineralization, an indicator of much higher gold content so Renforth is re-examining the property for shallower gold occurrences over greater lengths.
